Shortly after the Intel Magnetics (IM) site was listed on the NPL, it was demonstrated that the Magnetics source had been cleaned up and that the remaining ground water plume was due to an upgradient source on the Microstorage (MSC) site. The MSC site was added to the NPL, the combined site became known as the Microstorage/Intel Magnetics (MSC/IM) Superfund site, and the responsible party (RP) for MSC took over the cleanup. Unfortunately, Intel’s name remains associated with this site even though its source has been removed and ground water concentrations have been reduced to cleanup standards in the former source area.
